MANDATE AND OPERATIONS

Mandate: Established by Parliament to investigate disappearances between 1973-1982.

Staff: Made up of approximately 9 commissioners and additional support staff.

Results: Documented 164 cases of disappearances

FINAL REPORT

Informe Final de la Comisión Investigadora sobre la Situación de Personas Desaparecidas y Hechos que la Motivaron (Final Report of the Investigative Commission on the Situation of the 'Disappeared' People and its Causes)

Report concluded that Uruguayan military had been involved in disappearances and gave findings to the courts.
