FINAL REPORT

Informe Especial sobre las quejas en materia de desaparaciones forzadasocurridas en la decada de los 70 y principios de los 80 (Special Report on the Complaints Regarding Forced Disappearances from the Decade of the 1970’s and Beginning of the 1980’s).

The 3,000 page report was released on November 27, 2001.

The Commission made known the illegal modus operandi of the armed security forces and recommended the designation of a Special Prosecutor.

On the day of the  release of the report President Vincente Fox announced the creation of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, and issued instructions for the secret archives to be made available to the Special Prosecutor and the public. [HRW]
