Since 2004 there have been discussions over the possibility of establishing a South Africa-style Truth and Reconciliation Commission to look into the period of the Troubles. However, some fear that such a Commission would be ineffective and would "produce more in the way of recrimination than resolution." [Belfast Telegraph]
